HOW DID YOU BECOME A MASSAGE THERAPIST? WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?

I became a massage therapist after completing extensive training in massage and reflexology in 2006, but above all by practicing this profession in different places and across various sectors.
In fact, in 2009 I moved to Berlin, where I explored several massage techniques from exotic countries. I lived there for eight years. During a trip to India in 2010, Ayurvedic-Yoga massage was added to my range of skills. I subsequently taught this massage, which inspired me greatly.
I also believe that my touch has developed through each person I have been able to massage, and I still feel that I am “a work in progress” in this activity! Discovery is endless…

HOW WERE YOU BROUGHT TO WORK WITHIN THE MAINS DES BAINS ASSOCIATION AND SINCE WHEN?

I often wanted to work as a massage therapist at the Bains des Pâquis, but the moment I submitted my CV coincided with my return to Geneva in 2017. In 2018, I was invited to take part in two exchanges at the Bains and then, little by little, in 2019 everything fell into place for me.

WHY DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITHIN THIS ASSOCIATION?

I find that the Mains des Bains association is strong and solid, but also simple, natural and human. I admire the way my colleagues have created, organized, structured and optimized this organization over the years.
At the Bains, I love the wonderful unity formed by such diverse people and groups. And the view from the massage cabins is sublime.

WHICH MASSAGE TECHNIQUES DO YOU PRACTICE AT BAINS DES PÂQUIS?

I mainly practise classic massage, relaxation or sports massage, and reflexology. At the Bains des Pâquis, I adapt to each person’s request to target as effectively as possible what can be done in 50 minutes.

WHICH TECHNIQUES DO YOU PRACTICE IN YOUR PRIVATE PRACTICE? WHERE IS IT LOCATED?

The same, but I am more flexible in terms of time. I follow my intuition through a blend of techniques to ease tension. My practice is in Geneva, more precisely on Avenue Pictet-de-Rochemont, just below the new Eaux-Vives station.

IN YOUR OPINION, IN FOUR WORDS, WHICH QUALITIES ARE ESSENTIAL TO BE A MASSAGE THERAPIST AT BAINS DES PÂQUIS?

Flexibility, openness, professionalism, commitment.

WHAT ARE YOUR PROJECTS?

I continue to blend my techniques, and from now on, I incorporate fascia touch. A new impetus also inspires me: the approach of emotional digestion through bone touch. I wish to explore further and accompany patients with my acquired knowledge and through these new inspirations, experimenting with slowness as much as possible.
